Rotary: a Model of Ethical Leadership

The Ethical Leadership Forum at The Sebastian Hotel - Vail, Colorado  

The annual Ethical Leadership Forum, in partnership with the newly-merged Vail Edwards Rotary Club, is hosting Rotarians from all over Colorado for an inspiring morning of speakers, collaboration, and networking. Programming is inspired by the principles of what it means to be a Rotarian.

I. 7:45 am - 8:15 am

"Rotary In The Amazon"

The morning will begin with a Rotarian Breakfast, featuring Megan McDaniel of CONAPAC (Conservación de la Naturaleza Amazónica del Perú A.C.), an organization dedicated to rainforest conservation, community development, and rural education in the Amazon region near Iquitos, Peru. Megan will share insights into CONAPAC’s significant influence in the Amazon, where partnerships have helped to protect delicate ecosystems, empower local communities, and provide essential educational resources to remote areas. Through their collaborative efforts and support from Rotary, CONAPAC has made a profound impact on both environmental sustainability and the quality of life for indigenous populations.


II. 8:30 am - 9:15 am

"Rotary Wheels and Sparks”

Incredible outcomes emerge when Rotarians from various clubs come together in one room. Join us for engaging round table discussions that unite members from different Rotary clubs, creating an environment ripe for curiosity and collaboration. These discussions will spark innovation, connections, and cooperative efforts through the sharing of diverse ideas and perspectives.


III. 9:30 am - 10:45 am: Business Session

"Stronger Together: Building Partnerships for a Better World"

Join us for a panel discussion featuring several B:Corp leaders from Colorado, moderated by leadership expert and author Jennifer Simpson. The conversation will explore how impact-driven businesses, organizations, and schools can collaborate within their communities—and beyond—to serve as a powerful force for good.

Richard Lackey

Founder and Chairman of The World Food Bank, US

Richard Lackey is an American business entrepreneur with more than 30 years of diverse professional experience. In 2017 Mr. Lackey founded the World Food Bank Group to leverage new technologies in food storage to resolve many of the challenges associated with commodity sourcing, and market volatility that prevents small farmers from earning a strong and sustainable income and prevents food and feed manufactures from operating efficiently. Mr. Lackey’s vision is that the World Food Bank will serve as a catalyst for lifting tens of millions out of poverty while regenerating soil, cleaning water, and bringing unprecedented levels of nutrition and food security to the world.

 
 

Dr. Karambu Ringera

Founder and President of International Peace Initiatives, Kenya

Dr. Karambu Ringera is a Kenyan human rights advocate, peacebuilder,  supporting children orphaned by HIV/AIDS and empowering women in marginalized communities. Born in Meru, Kenya, she also established the Tiriji Eco-Center, promoting regenerative development.

With a Ph.D. in Intercultural Communication from the University of Denver, Dr. Ringera integrates peace studies, conflict resolution, and community development into her strategy of regenerative development. Recognized as one of Kenya's most influential women, she continues to lead significant impact in Kenya and globally.

IPI is a NGO partner of Shoulder-to-Shoulder and hosts field studies in Ethical Leadership for high school students in Meru, Kenya.

Shoulder-to-Shoulder Lunch - A Savory Practice in Ethical Leadership

Join us for an interactive lunch with Longer Tables, featuring lively discussions among attendees from various sectors on key insights from the keynote address. Following this, Richard Lackey and Dr. Ringera will lead a dynamic Q&A session, offering a chance for deeper exploration and open dialogue.
